2017 Recipients

ERICA PARISH, Owens Community College

Erica Parish is the director at Owens Community College for TRIO Student Support Services, a federally-funded program to help students attain an associate’s degree, certificate, and/or transfer to a four-year university. She has also created a teen center in Ann Arbor for youth to socialize and work, has participated in a two-year leadership excellence academy leading to her becoming a certified manager in program improvement, served for seven years on the MLK Kitchen for the Poor board, and was a woman in leadership at UPS.

Parish graduated from the University of Michigan (UM) and then earned her MBA from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and since has been recognized and serves her community in a number of ways. She was selected as the Outstanding Chapter Advisor from BGSU Fraternity and Sorority Life, has served on the Perrysburg Amateur Baseball and Softball Commission for 10 years in multiple positions, a commissioner for the Perrysburg Women’s Softball League, and has worked with the United Way of Greater Toledo for eight years. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
