NICHOLAS KOMIVES, Equality Toledo

Nicholas Komives currently serves as the executive director of Equality Toledo. Dedicating his life to social justice causes, he has traveled the country working with different organizations on matters of marriage equality, worker’s rights, women’s right to health care, and a variety of issues affecting the LGBTQIA.

Prior to serving as executive director, Komives had served on the board of Equality Toledo since 2010. Komives chaired its community action board where he worked with City officials to communicate the needs of the local LGBTQIA community.

He has been honored with multiple awards, including the title of The Champion of Equality in 2016. Komives has also received the Equality Leadership Award in 2008 and 2011, as well as the Equality Award from Equality Toledo in 2010.

Komives currently resides in Toledo, making a home here after his national travels to better serve the community by working with different local organizations.
