Luke Harman was promoted to Lieuten- ant of the Toledo Fire Rescue Department in 2011 and promoted again in 2014 to Captain. He has completed Fire Officer I, II, and III courses and is a State of Ohio Fire Instructor and Incident Safety officer. He has been involved as a Field Training Officer in department-wide Safety and Rapid Intervention Team Training.

Harmon holds an associate’s of applied science in fire science from Kaplan University and has been recognized with a number of awards including the Thomas P. Dugan Union Service Award in 2016 and the Presidential Award of Honor in 2015.

Harmon also serves as the president of the Old Newsboys Goodfellow Association, where he was previously the paper sale chairman, vice president, and secretary; helps organize the ‘Hoops and Heroes’ event to support Mom’s House program DADS Matter; volunteer coordinator for Shamrock-in’ the Blarney; volunteer assistant football coach at Central Catholic High School; and much more.
