Sara Hegarty, American Heart Association
Sara Hegarty is the executive director at the American Heart Association (AHA) and works for 101.5 The River. Previous to these positions, she was an executive director, vice president, and board member for the March of Dimes, a co-host on The Morning Rush for 92.5 KISS FM, and hosted Toy-A-Thon with iHeartMedia.
Hegarty also developed a program called Gabriel’s Gowns, which provides families who lose their child at birth a gown to bury them in, which is in many hospitals in Ohio and Haiti.
Since graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in education, Hegarty has received a number of recognitions and has served her community. The Morning Rush was named Best Morning Show in 2015, 2014, and 2013 and Best Power Couple by the Toledo City Paper. She was named a Circle of Champion for her fundraising efforts in March for Babies for four consecutive years (2014-2017).
