BRITNEY WARD, Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio
Britney Ward is the director of community health improvement for the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio. She completed the first community health assessment in Erie County in 2004, and today, has grown the program to 45 counties in Ohio as well as working with communities in Oregon and Michigan.
In addition, Ward’s work in health assessments has been used as a best practice and case study by the American Hospital Association, with hospitals reaching out from all over the country for guidance and technical assistance. She has shared a model with the Network for Excellence & Health Innovation (NEHI) in Boston, and in 2018, was asked to present in Washington, DC to share its best practice model at the National Academy of Medicine’s Culture of Care Decision Making Innovation Collaborative.
Ward serves the community and sits on the board of directors for the Health Policy Institute of Ohio and participates on many regional and State committees including the Ohio Population Health Planning Committee; Ohio Hospital Association’s Regional Opiate Committee and Healthy Hospital Initiatives; and Healthy Choices Caring Communities Drug Free Coalition, to name a few.
