Sam Melden serves as a patient experience specialist for ProMedica and is currently finishing his master’s degree at UT in disability studies.

Over his career, Melden worked with local advocates to re-launch the Toledo Area Spina Bifida Coalition to help serve families with children with Spina Bifida; founded “Jam City,” annual event that has raised over $100,000 to help feed families in northwest Ohio; ran for Toledo City Council at Large; and is a 2017 Leadership Toledo graduate, among others.

He serves the community as a Mayoral appointee of the Toledo-Lucas County Commission on Disabilities, as a founding board member of The Daughter Project, as a co-organizer of TEDx Toledo and as president of the West Toledo Democratic Club.
