Danny Brown-Martinez serves as a captain for the City of Toledo Fire and Rescue Department (TFRD). He leads the department’s recruitment program, has increased the hiring of women and minorities from 4% to over 30%, and has been awarded several merits and citations for professionalism and valor.

Brown-Martinez first obtained his Associate’s degree in fire science and then his Bachelor’s degree in public safety studies and management, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from Siena Heights University. He has been awarded several Bravo awards for his community service, leadership, and academics.

Brown-Martinez serves the community in a range of roles, including as an executive board member of East Toledo Family Center; co-chair of the City of Toledo Employee Engagement Committee; co-chair of the TFRD Women of Courage event; and as a volunteer and member of other organizations and groups.
