DANIEL SANCHEZ, City of Fremont
Daniel Sanchez is the Mayor of the City of Fremont – the youngest Mayor elected in the City’s history, at age 32 and the only current male Hispanic Mayor in Ohio. In 2019, he was re-elected to a second term as Mayor, with 78% of the votes with three candidates.
Sanchez graduated from Tiffin University and currently is a criminal justice instructor at Vanguard Sentinel Career & Technology Center. He previously served as the chief probation officer for the City of Fremont; a regional probation officer trainer for the Supreme Court of Ohio; and was a graduate from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy.
Sanchez has done a lot for the community, serving on the Sandusky County Community Corrections board; previously serving on the Fremont City Schools board of education and on the drug / alcohol Mental Health & Recovery Services board; as a NAACP member; by helping create and start-up La Voz de la Comunidad (The Voice of the Community) and the Sandusky County Young Professionals Group; among other notable achievements.
