DR. NASSER HAJAR, Halim Clinic
Dr. Nasser Hajar is a cofounder and current president of the Halim Clinic. He has helped create a large team of volunteers to operate the first free medical and dental clinic registered in Ohio, and was able to fundraise $37,000 this year and $51,000 in supplies over the past two years. He has served over 500 uninsured or underinsured patients in medical and dental needs in Lucas County.
At the national level, Dr. Hajar serves on the American College of Gastroenterology Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, as well as actively serving on the endoscopic co-management committee at ProMedica, where the goal is to organize, ensure safety, and efficiently perform endoscopic and surgical procedures in ProMedica’s healthcare facilities.
Dr. Hajar has also served on the executive board of Majid Saad Foundation (local mosque in Sylvania) for three consecutive years; is one of the founders of Toledo Muslim Doctors Initiative; and during his most recent trip to Tamale, Ghana, dug wells for clean and drinking water and supported Ghanaian local schools and orphans.
