JILL HOFFMAN
Toledo Fire and Rescue / Army National Guard
Through encounters with a friend and a TFRD recruiter, Hoffman became a firefighter. Currently, as a member of the recruitment team, she was part of the group that hired the most diverse TFRD class since 1984. She serves on the City of Toledo’s Employee Engagement Committee and helped develop and implement Toledo Public Schools’ Public Safety Career Tech Program.
Hoffman committed to serving in the National Guard in her late twenties, starting out as a Platoon Leader in the 945th Engineer Company. With her firefighter experience, she became the first commissioned officer of the firefighting group. This led to the first female Commander of the 945th EN CO. During COVID-19 she was the Officer in Charge for over 120 Service Members at over 10 prisons throughout Ohio and for the Cleveland Mass Vaccination Center. She currently serves as the Logistics Officer for the 837th Brigade Engineer Battalion. Hoffman has earned numerous Military awards and medals.
Once Hoffman had the resources, she became a foster parent through Lucas County Children’s services. In 2018, she was blessed with the first of two children. Fostering led to the adoption of two of the greatest gifts in her life.
Hoffman is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
