ALLISON FISCUS

Toledo Lucas County Public Library

Having joined the library over 19 years ago, Fiscus currently oversees and coordinates partnerships, services, and initiatives for adults across all libraries as Adult Services Coordinator. Her work focuses on merchandising strategies to increase circulation, patron loyalty, and community connections to libraries. Partnerships include Mercy nurses at 11 libraries that increased flu vaccination 100% in 2023, free legal help through the Toledo Bar Association/Ohio Justice Bus, education opportunities with TRIO EOC/Owens Community College, social services with 211/Lutheran Social Services and health care sign-up with CareNet. She is recognized within the library profession for merchandising/advocacy to increase library use and customer loyalty. Fiscus created the TLCPL/Maumee Schools partnership that initiated direct library-to-school access valued at $250,000 per school year.

She is a member of the Maumee City Schools Strategic Planning Core Team, member and past president of the Maumee Uptown Business Association, member of the City of Maumee Charter Review Commission, Maumee Master Plan Committee, and Uptown Maumee Design Review Board. She is a 2023 candidate for the Maumee Schools Board of Education.

Fiscus was recognized by Maumee High School as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2023, named Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 2019 by the City of Maumee/Chamber of Commerce, and was named “Rookie of the Year” in 2021 by the Toledo Lucas County Public Library. She received the “Clara Lulis Russell Award” and the “Robert O. Holley Award” from Wayne State University in 2015 and 2017.

Fiscus is a graduate of the University of Toledo and Wayne State University.
