Andrea Gwyn, President of Mercy Health St. Anne Hospital and Sylvania Medical Center, has increased surgical volumes 22% at St. Anne’s, and patient satisfaction earned consecutive Press Ganey Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Awards. As the first President of Mercy Health Perrysburg Hospital, she successfully positioned the hospital to manage increased patient volumes following a competitor’s closure. Gwyn spearheaded the first cardiac catheterization lab in Wood County and achieved a 27% growth in ER volume. As founder of Gwyn Global Consulting, she provided strategic advisory services that included achieving $6 million in staffing savings for a major Washington D.C hospital. 

Gwyn’s community involvement includes the YMCA Board of Trustees, the Dana Open Board, the Virginia Commonwealth University Health Administration Alumni Board, and the Sylvania Chamber Board of Directors. She is involved with the Toledo Chapter of The Links, Inc., and the Zeta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Previously, she served as Vice President of the Perrysburg Chamber Board. She co-chaired the American Heart Association’s 2023 Go Red for Women campaign, exceeding the fundraising goal and setting a new record. Committed to supporting future leaders, she mentors three young women in their professional journey. She collaborated with the Toledo Chapter of Jack and Jill to host a Healthcare Professionals and Leadership program, enabling children under 13 to learn CPR. 

Gwyn was selected for the prestigious HCA Executive Development Program, and she was a recipient of the Corris Boyd Scholarship, a national scholarship where only two are selected each year. Under her leadership, St. Anne and Sylvania Medical Center were highlighted last year for Highest Performing Emergency Room, Most Improved Emergency room and Most Improved Inpatient Scores. 

Gwyn earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Richmond and a Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Locally, she participated in the Leadership Toledo Signature Program.
