JENNIFER STRAUSS
Nationwide Children’s Hospital Toledo
Jennifer Strauss began her healthcare career in 2006 as a medical assistant in primary care. In her role at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, she oversees an annual budget of $320 million and has established new service lines for colorectal and pelvic reconstruction, behavioral health, ENT, neurosurgery, orthopedics, audiology, nephrology, developmental pediatrics, and sports medicine. In her previous role at Mercy Health, Strauss initiated the “New Beginnings” program for pregnant women facing substance abuse disorder. During the COVID pandemic, she led the establishment of community testing and treatment sites and implemented telehealth services.
In the community, she serves on the Advisory Counsel for EPIC, is a member of the Panther’s Founders Club of the Washington Schools Foundation, and recently joined the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity Board. She was part of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign and volunteers at Connecting Kids to Meals. This fall she will join the UT Rockets Ascend Pathways Program as a mentor. Strauss was a recipient of the 2024 YWCA’s “Women on the Rise” award recognizing community leaders making a positive impact and empowering others.
Strauss is a graduate of the University of Toledo and the University of St. Francis.
